It's a useful exercise every now and then to push the pause button and reflect on the massive changes that are taking place. No wonder people are on edge. If you said a little over a decade ago: Twitter, Facebook, Linked-In, YouTube, smartphones, Wi-Fi, touch screens, bionic limbs, hybrid cars, drones, Airbnb, Uber, etc, you probably would have had a similar sensation that Thomas Edison experienced  when he was trying to explain the value of the light bulb.
