Why this Question Matters

By Paul E. Casey

“Touching the Void” is a movie based on a true story, about two climbers who become separated in bad weather while mountain climbing in Peru.

One of the climbers breaks his leg and his prospect for surviving looks highly unlikely.

But when this climber was at his lowest point, he somehow found clarity by viewing his predicament in a detached, more objective way. He was less emotional and more focused on finding a way out of his situation, which he eventually did.

The ability to look at your business through the eyes of your customer is an essential trait for success. Emotions always come into play when running your business, but if you can step back and look at your current challenge in an objective manner, your prospects for success will be much higher.

Bottom Line: The more you can view your business and life experiences as an impartial observer, the higher your prospects for success.
